Hoher Kasten Drehrestaurant und Seilbahn AG

In just eight minutes, the Hoher Kasten cable car takes you from Brülisau directly up to 1,794 meters above sea level, passing by idyllic hill landscapes and typical Appenzell farmhouses. Once at the top, your view sweeps over six countries (Germany, Austria, the Swiss Alps and Mittelland, Italy, France).

The boundless 360° view can be experienced in two ways: first, on the Europa circular trail, which leads around the summit. Second, in the only revolving restaurant in Eastern Switzerland, where your view changes continuously over the course of an hour. In addition to unique views, the revolving restaurant offers excellent cuisine with local and seasonal dishes. The alpine garden, the plant paradise at the summit, also leaves a lasting impression. Over 300 plant species unfold their colorful splendor there. Hoher Kasten is also an ideal starting point for various hikes in all directions.

Children up to and including 15 years of age ride the Hoher Kasten cable car for free.
