Strähl Käse

What began in 1934 as a one-man operation has developed into a dynamic family business with around 70 employees. The artisanal skill is at the forefront when it comes to accompanying the various cheese specialties with elaborate care to the optimal degree of ripeness. Most types of cheese are known well beyond the cantonal border. No wonder, since up to 150,000 liters of Thurgau cow milk are processed into fine cheese daily in the small village.

The older generation still remembers the "Strähl-Chäs" – that's what the people of Thurgau called the green Tilsiter. Today, in almost all good cheese displays, one can find many more specialties with names like Thurgau cream cheese, Genuine Thurgau, Bonaparte, Bonapepe, Arenenberger, Farmer, Landrauchkäse, Valbella caraway cheese, or award-winning raclette cheese in 4 varieties.
